Dominique has always wanted to be on stage and in front of the spotlights. From the early days with her younger brothers’ making home videos of her striking poses on a make shift runway in the living room, to her appearing on Cycle 10 of America’s Next Top Model, Modelville and Cycle 17 of America’s Next Top Model – The All-Star Season it is appropriate to say that Dominique is turning her dreams into her reality.
Dominique enjoys spending time with her fans and talking about her experiences as a model and TV personality. The best questions always come from the teenage girls who seem to know the Top Model episodes by heart. To no surprise, the popular questions seem to be the same from city to city “how do I become a model?” and “how do I get on the show?” Dominique shares with her fans that she tried out for America’s Next Top Model five times. After her disappointment of not being selected for Cycle 9, she moved to Los Angeles. Her goal was to turn the dream of high fashion modeling into a reality. Just weeks after her relocation to Los Angeles, she received the call she had been waiting for – she had been selected for Cycle 10 of America’s Next Top Model.
America’s Next Top Model has proved to be a good learning experience. “Although we have had our cat fights, I value my experience with each model,” admits Dominique. As most viewers know, the editing of the show doesn’t reveal the full context of the conversations and conflicts that take place. Despite this, Dominique feels that after each interaction with her co-stars and the panel of judges she comes away more poised and prepared and the exposure is priceless. She shares that in modeling, it is not about being perfect, it is about creating the illusion of looking perfect in front of the camera to get that one shot.
Dominique has been a favorite on the America’s Next Top Model franchise, appearing on two different cycles, first in Cycle 10 where she made it to the finals, finishing fourth and on Cycle 17 – The All-Star Season which airs fall 2011. In addition to being on ANTM, Dominique appeared on and was the winner of a completion held on the Tyra Banks’ show, called Modelville. As winner, Dominique spent 2009 as spokes model for the beauty line Carol’s Daughter. Additionally, Dominique has appeared in national magazines including Seventeen and Essence; appeared on major networks like CW, UPN, and E; appeared at New York’s Fashion Week and television shows such as Entourage, and The Tyra Show.
Dominique plans to follow her most recent America’s Next Top Model experience with a career in modeling, acting, music and on-air correspondence work. In addition, she has a passion and commitment to community enrichment and charitable support. Her advice to young aspiring models and other professionals: “Always be grounded, remain confident and keep your integrity.”
